BROTHERS GET HELP TO BUILD SOLID GOLF FOUNDATION
Golfing brothers Alastair and Connor Haynes who regularly feature on the leaderboard, have their sights set on even bigger and better improvements to their game thanks to the support of Kier Group a leading construction, property and service group based in Bedfordshire.
Alastair 17yrs who plays off a handicap of 5 and Connor 15 yrs who has a handicap of 4, live at Summerfield Farm in Tilbrook and have been playing golf for about 5 years having been introduced to the game by a family friend who worked for Kier.
As the boys have developed a real passion for the game and progressed they have become key junior players at St Neots Golf Club and play in the Cambridge County U18 and U16 squads. Paired together they make a formidable duo in County foursomes.
Recently Connor won the St Neots Mens Championship in a thrilling play off to become the youngest ever winner in the clubs history and, at this years annual Ian Poulter junior invitational international golf competition at Woburn, he collected the third net prize and the longest drive on the day.
Kier Chief Executive Paul Sheffield says, “ We are pleased to be helping the boys further improve their game and wish them every success for the future”.
Kier is financially supporting the boys through an annual training programme produced by their coach Paul Ashwell at Wyboston Lakes in Bedfordshire. Paul is in the top 25 of UK coaches and trains the EGU National Squad and players in the County squads.
